When charity is replaced by greed When love is less than prejudice When God is replaced by dollars When Christmas is nothing more than a commercial These are the times that fry men's souls When Justice is over ruled by Law When Peace is attainable only by War When Freedom is sabotaged by Organization When God is only a device for Immortality When progress is stiffled by Traditional Ignorance These are the times that try men's souls And these are those times [This message has been edited by Toerag (12-06-2002 08:36 AM).] |

well you have added to this since I first read it... It's too bad the season is and for that matter the times are such that we lose sight of the important... chin up Toe... tax time is right around the corner and we can then lament paying Uncle Sam to provide subsidies to many fat cats in industry! |

Buzz.... ......that fry men's souls.... If they only knew! Like that line. And, I like your poem a great deal. Good reminder to me to double check my own behavior, for with children involved it is so easy to go overboard and tempting to lose site of what is important. Oh my, you added to your poem. A great addition: ~Traditional ignorance~ pretty well covers the whole situation..... It can only change one person at a time. IF it be God's will...and He will ~unblind~ those He chooses.... Warm regards, Pat ..without surrender, be on good terms with all persons.. "Desiderata" [This message has been edited by regards2you (12-06-2002 08:42 AM).] |

Very nice poem Toerag. I am glad to see this isn't one of those poems where you are picking on Balladeer and Long John, again. |

Toe darling man as always this is exquisite, your writing simply sings to me today, you really do light up the sky with your poetic touch. Such wisdom and so beautifully written, you are one amazing writer…………. Through the veil of mist your sight Reveals much more than day or night Daily you show the world arrayed In the colours here displayed I would if I could always see The world through your poetry So dance my mind into the day Dip and whirl and let me sway Take me there to that place once more Wrapped in your poetry to soar There are more colours deep within you Which paints the world in vibrant hue Truly wonderful writing you are both wise and clever and I love this utterly utterly utterly love it……… Now shine that light over here quick there’s several who’ve forgotten the real meaning of Christmas Love and warm stuff As always Mushy Breathe through the heat of our desire |

A very serious one for you, my dear Toe. When God is only a device for Immortality how very well put. And now it looks as though we may go to yet another war. Cor |

What you write of, is unfortunately quite prevalent and it saddens me and breaks my heart. In my own small way, I try to make a difference. If we all made an effort to right some of the wrongs, even by what would seem an insignificant amount, we could not only increase awareness, we could actually effect change! I do believe that there is a paradigm shift occuring throughout the world. There is a shift in the mass consciousness. Spirituality is spreading, people are uniting, there are improvements being made to preserve our environment (hopefully still in time!), there is more of an inter-connectedness. Much of this is not being reported--at least not to the extent that negativity is broadcasted. I am concerned for all living creatures, our environment and for our lone, blue planet whirling out of control. ~ I send love and light to one and all God bless EA |
