Poeting

I am in a poet mood
striking out with words instead
of dreaming dreams
and wandering thoughts,
and place them here
so they are read.

I am in a solemn mood
a loving moment, of serious mind
in want to capture the who of you,
the one I know in hidden find.

I am in a tender mood
sensitive, softhearted yet
mindful of the rules of love,
the romantic me does not forget.

You set them up for me to break
each morning come, when I awake.
A tennis game, sometimes it feels,
the score to tie, I'm on your heels.

I write in rhyme, no pattern though
each verse alone I seem to throw
upon this pad, a noted view
to feel this feel, in loving you.

No pattern comes when words appear
just love-you thoughts, for you to hear
if only in your mind of me
I want for this, to always be.

I am in a loving mood
and have you here in front of me.
This rhyme of nonsense on this night
I pocket close, for you to be.

I am in a poet mood
striking out with words instead
of dreaming dreams
and wandering thoughts,
and place them here
so they are read.

M

I'm a new member and am so thrilled with this place and all the wonderful poetry! I really enjoyed yours; I love poetry which is a snapshot of a particular moment or time, or mood. It's nice to be able to snatch something away from time's unsympathetic hand and you're talented to be able to do it so beautifully!

The soul would have no rainbows, had the eyes no tears.
