Once upon a time is ever
Minutes unticking dawning stayed
In my vision all the oceans
Wading footsteps start cascade.

Across a prairie torched in sundown
Drinking lips of rivers free
Peaceful following of a heartbeat
You are there, here with me

In the mirror of reflection
Scruff kneed climbing up a tree
Popping bubbles of reminder
You are there, here with me

Could my inkwell touch creation
Pierce the truth of always love
You would be the one with answer
Gleaned from sky climbed search above

So I wait here in the stillness
Opening all my depth of be
With joy to find what I was knowing
You are there, here with me.

Here, there, or in-between, friendship is a perpetual celebration of our yesterdays, and the spirit that helps us find our tomorrows.

This poem feels especially good to me today, because it carries the promise and the reality.
