The first thought that comes to my mind,
is just how grateful that I am,
forgiveness for my sinful ways,
through daily walk with Christ, the Lamb.

He is my strength, my hope and peace.
His blood was shed that I might live.
I've never had a closer friend.
To you, dear Jesus, praise I give.

I'm very thankful for my son.
More happiness, I've never known.
He gives me much love and respect.
He'll be a fine man when he's grown.

I'm thankful for each of my friends
and how they all find time for me.
There is great comfort in their love
and I know there will always be.

I'm thankful that my life was spared,
to raise my son into a man
and spared by God, not surgeon's knife,
to live out His most perfect plan.

So blessed we are, we tend forget.
I'm guilty of the same thing, too.
My life has been forever changed
and for the better, it is true.

Michael, This is so utterly beautiful, you put tears in my eyes. So good to hear this hopeful, peaceful side of you.

BTW, He is my best friend, too, and I could not get through one day without Him!

You honestly did a wonderful job with this poem!

Hugs to you,
Warm Regards,
Pat

Wonderful Michael..
Yes you have much to be thankful for this year..
May you continue to write and paint for many many years to come.
I know how much you love Christopher..
and you will be there for him
to see him grow into a fine man
just like his dad.
I've always believed in the power of prayer
and you poet sir are living proof
that miracles can and do happen.

A poem such as this reveals a great deal  about the man who has written it.......You, dear poet, are a man of worth and a man worthy of such blessings.

Michael, Jesus is the dearest friend any of us could ever have. Isn't it wonderful that God loved the world so much that He gave His  ONLY  Son, so that we could be saved through Him?
I loved your poem. So loving and inspirational.
Thank you.

It does not surprise me, Michael,
that with all you have been through, that
you would so rapidly, and with great surety,
turn to sharing Him with all of us.

Thank you for this.  I believe you had the
heart of the challenge within you the entire
time...it just needed a request...

Pat,
Your replies are always so generous.  Thank you!  Hugs

ThisDiamond,
Thanks for the standing ovation.  That was very sweet.

Nancy,
Yes, they can and do, my friend.  Thank you and Big Hugs back.

Secretlife,
I appreciate it it very much and thanks for reading.

Linda,
That's a very dear thing to say.  Thank you so much.

Toerag,
Indeed, it is quite sad.  Thank you, sir.

Noah,
Your replied really touched me.  Thank you!  You're a special man and friend.

Donna,
And as are you, my friend.  Thank you! Hugs

Ethel,
Thanks for "loving" this one.   That means a lot.  The Lord truly is amazing.

Karilea,
There are those among us that have been through much more than myself.  I'm fortunate in that I was introduced to Jesus at an early age and wanted to come know someone that would sacrifice so much for me, personally.  It is this faith that has seen me through my life, this year, especially...and the ones ahead.  Thank you for the challenge.  It was the first one I've ever done.

Martie,
And your friendship touches my own. Hugs
