The gray clouds darkening as winds
howl away the moon.  Storm brewing
among the caps of white between twin
peaks...

Leaves rustling anxiously, awaiting the tear
the fall, the swirl....some will find the earthen home
as others float away on stems of brown...
Twirling and swirling...

Even the fowl huddle against the chill, awaiting
the shrill shriek of a devil’s wind...ruffling the
shortest feather, the lightest fur and longest mane.
Brewing a flavor not palatable to the buds.

Seasons change...
as life awaits the moment....when nature
takes the reins of earth and guides
the wind.....the chilling wind

Barry

I hear the Carolinas are getting hit pretty hard with a storm.  Is that what you mean?  Hope all is well. Warm hugs!

Truth is it is kinda cold here but that is
about it...almost had a little sleet,  but
this is the Carolinas...and the southern
part stays fairly tame...

Thanx for the replies and the concern...

And Yeah,  a good nite for a romantic write!

To all of life, there is contrast. How we long for the light but sometimes, we are trapped in the dark of night.

Right now, I would love a cozy warm down comforter being wrapped around my shivering shoulders by big, strong comforting arms...That would take the chill out of my body and warm me up considerably!

I love the wind, no matter what frame of mind or mood it's in!--and I loved this write! It was invigorating--and somewhat stimulating! tehe

Perfectly woven images, Barry, you are so talented in your 'eye-viewing!'

Bring it on!!!  I miss a good storm (as long as I'm safe, warm, and cozy inside, of course...)   Nice "photem", Barry.

Like Enchantress, I feel this is a great stanza...not to denigrate the rest of it.  Nice work...KJ
