Give not the earth’s riches to this man
from the lusty spoils of  stone and gold.
Take not to harbor the sins of the hand
for all that’s left shall be an empty palm

O, but to have the sight of the unseen
that one might guide their own piteous  life.
To hold earth’s blood ever lightly in trembles touch
and scour the seas of trepidation’s loss.

Scorn he who hears only the wind’s sigh
before the landing swirl of  leaves fallen.
For in each leaf lies the purest gold of life,
the sparkle of a gem of blood’s rushing.

To bask in the still of day, the cool of night,
the radiance of a waning moon’s tenderness.
To let the sun and stars light the eyes in
shimmer as each ray brings a treasure rich.

Bring only the fruit of my toils, my seed,
for this I have earned most earnestly....
and from this my pride boils to the surface
of my waking soul, my yearning mind..

As I too lie in the meadow green
and each new grain falls into the shift
of flowing sands...
