A gentle smile

While i look at the the butterflies swirling by
I notice a girl staring at the sky
Her face is an open book
The only thing she needs, is someone to look
To read the veins of her past
And help her to forget all of it fast

Now the train slows down and i have to get off
While standing up i gently cough
getting her attention, I throw her a friendly smile
And see her face chearup for just a little while
This small gesture I thought she could use
Made me realise smiling works like a fuse

So from now on whenever I see a person in pain
I gently smile and wish to the moon
For their inner storm to end soon
Cause everyone should know the sun will shine, even after heavy rain

The greatest thing u'll ever learn
is just to love
and be loved
in return

Beautifully done! Letters work wonders too, but then you have to know someone to send them a letter. Sometimes Im the one smiling and sometimes Im the one that needs one, so I can see this poem from different angles. You are very talented, I'll be looking for more of your work!
