Heavens veil Heavens veil surrounds the lands Armoured shadows of tiny ants An echo of a question replayed in everyone's mind though never to mention just to be kind For all to wonder the why's and the how's Yet to never get an answer on an act this foul For the result of drink and drive is, for us, quite known When death does strike, you won't believe the hospital voice on the phone To hear a loved one's soul to have joined heavens veil Leaves your heart behind with a bleeding trail ~~~ Note: this didn't happen to me or any of my loved ones; i wrote this from a dream/nightmare i had The greatest thing u'll ever learn |

The three most chilling words I have ever heard were these: "Notify the family." Total devastation. ouch. |

What a nightmare!---and thank goodness that that was what this was! My experiences with this scenario, both professionally and personally (my cousin was decapitated in an accident caused by a drunk driver), have been living nightmares and they have had a profound impact on me. Hopefully poems such as yours might make someone think twice before getting behind the steering wheel of a car after they have had one too many! ~ May you and your loved ones be forever safe on, and off, the roads! Beautiful poem, it is hard to pick a favorite line I liked them all, but I think especially this one "Leaves your heart behind with a bleeding trail." Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful! WinterWren |
