I took another look at you, As you were passing by. I knew you didn't see me, With a regretful sigh... I started my old pickup, And I sadly drove away. No need to open up old wounds, That time has closed, they say. But you are just as lovely, As you were the day I left. Your beauty still can grip me, And nearly take my breath. I think you're looking younger, With passage of the years. Maybe it's because, You no longer shed those tears. We met, and then I wed you- But how were you to know. No woman in the universe- Competes with rodeo. A junky for the thrills and spills, And all the one night stands. I'm sorry that you had to fall, For such a sorry man. We sat and talked it over- And, yes, we both shed tears. And said that maybe in six months- But now it's been five years. Too late to turn it all around, Although you're still my wife, I'll wipe the moisture from my eyes, And drive out of your life. |

Gunslinger, Hard facts to face. But truth just the same. Very well done again, sir. If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again. |
