A Salty Day

I had a salty day today
From windy brine of pleasant spray
It came from o’er a sea of blue
And reminded me of you.

Sweet and caustic its appeal
That warmed my body to its feel
Set a blush upon my face
Of roses and chiffon lace

And on the beach lay pretty shells
That leached around in petty swells
And water lapped to sweep the sand
And left dark wet to seep the land

The sky was painted hews of red
The mist felt like a silky thread
The seagull turned into a dove
And churned my heart to thoughts of love.

I had a salty day today
In the midst of briny spray

Sounds like a good start to me. Some start today with winter squalls and snow piled up in freezing walls. Enjoyed

How did ya know I liked me poets salty?? *L*

I woke today in dreams of ocean spray ...
tide taken with my heart in salt swept sway.
I need to be where the horizon is hued in blue ...
I crave to see waves rise and fall in endless ensue.

I wish to walk upon sand and shell strewn shores ...
where sunrise and sunset saturate the surf in auburn adore.
I need to feel beach breezes and summer sun upon my skin ...
I dream of star stained skies surrendering to sunrise's beckon of begin.

A wish turns to true when the ocean's blue hue is in view ...
follow the footprints of two ... for I am always there with you.

On the beach, my favorite place to be. With thoughts of love, perfect!

I like this description:

"And water lapped to sweep the sand
and left dark wet to seep the land."

Really nice, I enjoyed this poem a great deal.

Warm regards, Pat

I have missed having tea with you first thing in the morning and this so brightened my day today.

The imagery in this lovely poem transported me to the oceanside. And for that I thank you.

Hugs, Marti

Sy

I spent yesterday at Seal Beach....walked out on pier and watched the surfers.  The most beautiful song is the sound of the ocean.

Loved your poem!

Mr Seymour...I haven't been to the beach lately
(except in my dreams and poetry)
so this was a very good visit there. Don't you just  love it??
