I often have a song in my head when I write a poem... And much too often the song's rhyme scheme shows up in the poem I'm writing. See if you can guess what I was thinking of when I wrote this (it's not a complete rip off, it's usually just to get started and then I run off from there) Lands Forgotten Do you remember me, And the waning moon, Among the lands forgotten? As we went hand in hand, Through the dreary path, Into the mystic lands. Is it so blurry now, The lives we lead before, Among the lands forgotten? We always knew what may, In their harrowed minds, We were happy every day. You’ve lost the spark You once had. You’ve lost the love You once knew. And if days still end in the setting sun I’ll help you find the truth. You wind me ‘round and ‘round, With not so much a sound, In the lands forgotten. Those who were once uncouth, Their souls may rest at last, Again you found the truth. |

Joshua, I liked what you did with the forgotten lands theme, although I can't say I can place the song. Kethry Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind. Unknown |

That's good that you can't name it... Might mean that it's so blatant only to me. |

Sounds totally original to me! I enjoyed the rhythmic flow of this and your imagery! Earth Angel |
