Captain Maggots Breakfast

I once met Captain Maggot who’d sailed the ocean wide
From the early days in egg cups to his recent sad demise.
I met him whilst peeling boulders, for a friend who was helping me out
The Captain was sharpening pebbles to distract from his terrible gout.

“My God” I cried in disbelief “you’re the size of a family home”!
“Well it pays to be chubby” the captain replied “now shut-up and leave me alone”!
“But hold on” I said (as I painted my hair) “don’t act as your hearts full of hate”
“I meant no abuse in my comment, I’m just desperate to put on some weight”!

“Well that’s quite alright” said the Captain “I’ll tell you my method right now”
“For breakfast each morn I get up at dawn and devour a pig and a cow”.
“Good Lord!” I rejoiced “you’ve opened my eyes, I’ll pay you back somehow I swear”
But the whole situation was boring so I carried on painting my hair.
