Picture by Josephine Wall * * * * In the city above the water My handsome lover waits for me Standing beneath the lamplight Is where I know he'll be We've booked a gondola for eight And we'll leave from St. Mark's Square As I begin to run towards you The pigeons scatter everywhere You present me with a rose As I kiss you passionately I believe with all my heart You and I were meant to be The gondolier serenades us "Amore" is the tune As we snuggle under the blanket Our love unfolds beneath the moon We drift so very slowly Beneath the Bridge of Sighs There I see my life's reflection When I look into your eyes I am in motion |

Hey Sue, Lovely poem, wish I was going to Venice too in that Gondola for Sunny and my honeymoon after we are married today. Just one minor criticism....You booked a Gondola for EIGHT, you usually go in two's on a romantic trip!!!!!!! LOL Someone who thinks logically provides a nice contrast to the real world. |

Hello Music Maker I'm still cracking up laughing from your comment! Yes, I see your point.....8 would most certainly kill all thoughts of romance, wouldn't it??lol Thanks for your great sense of humour and for making me laugh. Take care......Sue P.S. I wish you and your partner much love and happiness and I hope you have a perfect wedding and fabulous honeymoon. Here is a little something for you from me : "In our life there is a single color, as on an artist's palette which provides the meaning of life and art. It is the color of love." "Keep love in your heart. A life without it is like a sunless garden when the flowers are dead. The consciousness of loving and being loved brings a warmth and richness to life that nothing else can bring." I am in motion |

This is beautiful Sue. My brother and sister in law (among others) were here today for Thanksgiving. My sister in law is from Denmark and I was telling her about Passions and the people I have 'met' from all over the world. We got talking about Venice and what a grand city she is. I sign on to show her and here's your beautiful poem. What a strange coincidence. Hugs, Marti |

Lovely poem .....I felt like I was there ... and I learned something ....there REALLY is a "bridge of sighs" ... and they sent him home happy ... one hundred percent. |

(big hugggsssssssss) Oh Sue, I cried not only reading this gorgeous poem and imagining the ride down a beautiful canal with your love, but also the beautiful poem you write for Sunnyone and Music Maker too! (sigh) God Bless You, sweet friend, your love always shines for everyone, you are a true angel and I wish this gentle romance to always sing wedding songs to your heart, yay, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Sue, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Love, Noah Eaton "Underneath your clothes there's an endless story..." |

I agree, eight is six or five too many, after all you want someone to pole the boat. Visual poem and very effective. Kethry Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind. Unknown |
