Ottawa (CP)- One of Prime Minister Jean Chretien's top aides quit Tuesday following a storm over her description of U.S. President George W. Bush as a "moron," Francoise Ducros, who had been Chretien's communications Director since 1999, said in her letter of resignation that the continuing controversy was making it "impossible for me to do my job." . . . . The rickshaws rear ends were upended, buses slept late in the barns, cabs on which wealthy depended idle silent without driver's yarns Elevators stewed in their basements no hands to give them a lurch, the world, silent, stared from their casements but for those whispered prayers in church The libraries did a brisk business, silent movies were revived, dull students seemed to be whizzes because home schooling now thrived The Congress was darn near dismantled senators now slept at home, just a handful of sycophants told how good gubamint jived in the dome. And too, all the world bodies dissolved, capitals, quiet, unreigned, there were very few crimes to be solved, name calling to be thanked (or to blame). |

Interesting read. Disagree about homes-schooled kids' intelligence though. Not so sure about regular school kids though. Thanks for sharing. God bless! |

Today I drove around at noon to get some lunch... the streets in my little city are quiet... everyone was about their way waiting to get to tomorrow's feast... anticipation... but earlier in the morning a lady of power made a remark of a man in power... less powerful, she subsided... I was not proud of my sex at the time... even less am I proud of the world's condition. But I will make tomorrow a good day... and I will continue to make the remaining tomorrows we all have as good as I can make them... I am only one... but I can make a heck of a ripple... thanks for turning on the faucet, Richard... |

it's the spin, the spin--but the slot machine never hits a jackpot--enjoyed! |
