Happy Thanksgiving to you all here on these pages of blue I hope ya'll have a very nice day with lots of good food to eat, too My family and I will prepare a big meal with all good Southern recipes Turkey and dressing, sweet potatoe pie, and much more that's sure to please Ya'll probably have some good recipes, passed down all through the years Just try not to eat so much that it hurts, and then, will bring you to tears I try to just eat a little of it all, but that makes me have a full plate When I'm finished, I say, "My goodness me, look how much I have ate !!" Seriously, dear friends......... If there's a roof up above you, and you have a good place to sleep With good food on your table and fine shoes on your feet Let's thank the good Lord for His love, for friends and family and for all of His blessings around that you see HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO MY FAMILY OF FRIENDS HERE AT PASSIONS IN POETRY I love you all, and pray that God will bless you all "Love makes the world go around" ~~with love and hugs from Ethel~~ [This message has been edited by garysgirl (11-27-2002 09:53 AM).] |

Down in sunny Florida On Thanksgiving day They fry up alligator In a special kind of way. Set the oven at three fifty, The head is slowly baked The tail is simply deep fried Cayenne pepper just to taste Served with fresh poke salad, Potatoes mashed with wine Yams and dressing cooked just right Snake seasoned with some thyme |

Mr. Toe, I sure do thank ya'll for the good (??) Southern recipes!!HeeHee!! Seriously, I never have tried alligator or snake, but I've heard that both are really delicious. I think I'll just stick to turkey and chicken, beef and pork. BTW, I don't even like the wild taste of venison or the other animals people get when going hunting. (notice I didn't call venison, "deer", didn't you? HaHa!!) "Love makes the world go around" |
