A Bite of Love

I wallow in a hollow bowl
The clamor wears my very soul
A cry in fly that dyed me pale
This harpoon struck, my heart in wail.

The echoes spin a seamless web
A tide that never seems to ebb
A sound that haunts my dreams at night
A sound that flaunts and will not right

There is no way that I can say
I’d give my life to change that day
To hold her hand and say I’m there
To dull her pain at least to share

I kiss her on the cheek each day
To ask forgiveness in a way
I do not think she understands
Each kisses bit of contraband.

I sorrow she will never know
The love I have and cannot show.

what a very clever couplet of word play, turn of phrase, personification, metaphor and rhyme...

WAAAAAY COOL!!

as is the imagery in these lines:

The echoes spin a seamless web
A tide that never seems to ebb

and this whole verse is worth is weight in poetic gold:

I kiss her on the cheek each day
To ask forgiveness in a way
I do not think she understands
Each kisses bit of contraband.

my way cool line of the day:

Each kisses bit of contraband.

me thinks you just told her Stinkylove...in this bittersweet beauty of heart on sleeve rhymes divine.

you rock and it rolls me

I'm not crazy, I'm just a little unwell
I know right now you cant tell
but stay awhile, maybe then you'll see
a different side of me

Still adjusting to this morning thing, Sy.  Maybe if I had them start a coffee IV, a couple hours before I got up, I could be this prolific at such an hour...yeah, sure!
