Inspired by Toerag:

The Pill of Why

This Randy Dandy went on a fly
Eating peyote mescaline pie
Never left the ground but thought he did
What flew away was only his ID.

It flew to the abyss of weird
On the tail of a long gray beard
Swung through the tree with the greatest of ease
Without the aid of a hanging trapeze

The weirdest of feeling I must admit
Watching these things of my own permit
Out side my body watching a fool
Thinking this flight the coolest of cool.

But the next day the bells did toll
Place a lead sinker in my soul
Nailed me on the why of a cross
Left me in a state of chaos.

And now I weary a path into fright
With ghosts and goblins that fly in the night.

we're gonna have to make sure Randy sticks to the raspberry tea to set his mind free.

i must agree with the first reply(the picture) LoL.  A very cool piece tho, the way i read it i could almost feel the flight in the words of the poem, it had a kind of smooth flow to the whole mood of the poem, i enjoyed reading it.

You know mentioning Toe's name gets my undivided attention, right? LOL

I like this very much... though I'm not about to confess how much I truly understand. LOL

Seymour darling heart I’m in here so much less these days, but you know that when I do come in I always seek you out and sip the honey that my soul needs to add some sweetness to it.

I was growing up through the sixties and by the time I was old enough to really know what they were about they had turned into the seventies, but this reminded me so much of them. You really are a treat to read and this was just the pick up I needed today, it hasn’t been a very good one so far.

I wish I could turn back time
I’d choose the day and make it mine
I’d play the day over again
Make it shine and never rain
The grass would be forever green
And secrets would remain unseen
Pain wouldn’t reach for me
I would live always happily
No tears of sorrow from my eyes
There’d be no worries and no sighs
I’d live to ring the bells all night
The touch of joy the thrill of sight
If I could turn back time’s hand
I think I’d be one of the happy band

Love and warm stuff
as always
Mushy

Breathe through the heat of our desire
Thy coolness and they balm
Let sense be dumb let flesh retire
Speak through the earthquake wind and fire

Me and my gal, (I'm sure you'd agree)
Are really quite normal, as normal can be,
Clean cut and well mannered
Well dressed and polite,
Until we're alone, together at night
Then we're drinkin' and druggin'
And watchin' TV
Eatin cold pizza with mushroom ice tea,
Just my gal and me and the devil makes three.
Drinkin' and druggin' and watchin' TV

(A toeragged version of a Shel Silverstein poem)...

NOw how could you say I inspired something like this Sy?...LOL...I've only been "high" once in my life....(And have kept myself that way since)....
