In this life of mine I've had trials,
troubles, and woes
But, you know, that's just the way, at
times, everything goes

I refuse to let the past keep me
low and down
I simply would hate to always be
wearing a frown

I know wrinkles I'm getting from
the many miles
But most of them aren't from frowns
they're from smiles

I try to find some kind of humor in
all my situations
Though some I get myself into, there's
simply no elation

For all my life I've found that there's
some good in everyone
And it really dosn't matter what in the
past they've done

So everyone we see, even the homeless
on the street
We need to give a huge smile, you see
to everyone we meet

You're so right! As my Mom would say, I don't have any wrinkles, they're just "laugh lines"!

I love your honest and sincere way of talking about your life, your values and your special way of looking at the world. You should write a book of poems entitled, "The World Through Ethel's Eyes"!
