Hello Lyra As you probably know it doesn't snow where I live, here in Melbourne, only way up in the mountains which are far from where I live on the coast. Thank you for giving me such a fabulous insight to what it is like. The picture complimented your words so beautifully. Take care Love Sue I am in motion |

Thanks so much for your reply, Sue... It snows a lot here on the western side of Michigan because we get the lake effect snow from Lake Michigan... But it hasn't snowed yet this year... In November, we tend to have very grey skies, which look like ice... but it doesn't usually start snowing until the beginning of December... sometimes in very late November around Thanksgiving... ~ loving chipmunk hugs Lyra |

I'm not looking forward to the sky you perfectly describe, Lyra. We're still getting hours of bright, almost warm sunshine nearly everyday. This morning when I was walking the dog, there were so many leaves falling off the trees, it sounded like it was raining. |

I am looking forward to the first crystal storm where all is iced and stands in shimmering light just before a morning thaw |

Lyra, this is just stunning! As much as I dislike the cold and snow and ice, your words make it sound so enticing. Beautiful, beautiful poem and the picture is fantastic. Hugs to you dear friend, Marti "I am not afraid of STORMS for I have learned how to sail my SHIP." |

November is commonly perceived as one of the two dreariest months of the year--February, being the other--at least in this part of the world. Your poem and photo illustrate the beauty of this month and that we should all embrace it and go out and enjoy the invigorating weather and behold the purity of its starkness. ~ This is one of the loveliest poems that I have ever read on the month of November. It is a keepsake poem for me. Thank you! ~ warm hugs to keep the winter chill out Linda |

Very pretty work here, Lyra. I'm so glad the trees here retain their leaves during the winter. Unfortunately, being so far south I miss the autumn colors. Warm hugs, my friend. |

Lyra, you know how I love the sand on the beaches near the water, but you painted this so well with your words and picture that it sounded very inviting. Thanks for sharing this beautiful picture and poem. "Love makes the world go around" |

Sweet Chippymunk - strange isn't it how the clouds appear different with each season? This is a lovely poem - enjoyed. Chris "Hope" is the thing with feathers- |

Lyra You made me shiver with cold from your vivid description. You paint with words. It was 85 degrees here in Southern California today. November is my favorite time here, as the Santa Ana winds blow the warm air from the desert some days, and clean the sky of every trace of smog. |

Lyra, you have painted the scene very well, also set the mood in place...looking up into a somber gray sky.....wishing .. as you are... for that warming blanket of white finery to fall gently to earth.... Hugs to you Lady C. |

November is that transition period between fall and winter...it seems aimless...neither warm or cold...but only temporary...beautiful write Lyra...and a great picture too.. ...believe what your heart feels... |

(sigh) Oh Lyra, you've painted the picture so beautifully, sweet friend, it is a time of nothingness and tranquility yet only lasts for a little bit and before you know it the snowflakes dance and then spring rushes back in! (kiss on cheek) God Bless You, sweet friend, this is very wonderfully said, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Lyra, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Love, Noah Eaton "Underneath your clothes there's an endless story..." |

Duncan... thank you for your reply, This has been such a strange year for weather. I didn't think the leaves would ever turn color, but when they did... they did a magnificent job... and now that they are gone, the winds of winter are starting slowly to make their way in... but its only been these last couple of days that the sky has truly looked like November... ~ loving rodent hugs Lyra |

Eliza... Welcome to Passions and thank you for your reply... I love the way those ice storms look also, but they can be so very dangerous... especially if you have to drive anywhere in them. I hope to read some of your work soon ~ welcoming chipmunk hugs Lyra |

Thanks so much, Ron... I don't know where you live, but I think the sky in November somehow looks different than any other month... It may be dreary, but I love it. The summer skies are nice also... but they provide me with a different inspiration ~ hugs from the chipmunk in the sky Lyra |

Ethel... thanks so much for your kind words... In Michigan, winter usually means cozying up by the fireplace... and so I usually look forward to that... although I hate driving in the snow and ice... but I have always thought that the wintery skies here are particularly lovely ~ hugs from Michigan Lyra |

Winters chill can be quite cold, but I still find it thrilling to see snow and ice hanging on trees, though it's pictures only because I'm in Florida. Enjoyed the poem! Deb |

Never thought of snow as cleansing but it makes perfect sense. The stripped trees do look forlorn and the decaying leaves dirty so .......bring on the snow. Enjoyed |

Thanks for your reply, Deb... Its even more beautiful in real life... Florida may be nice and warm... but you really don't know what you are missing... We have lovely icicles on our trees and roads which are too slick to drive on, so we have to stock up on our groceries when we hear there is a storm coming... ~ hugs from the snow chipmunk Lyra |
