Functioning I just remembered I forgot those pills beside my bed. I fell asleep without them last evening wondering now.. how the rest of my day will progress. I turned the corner, and you were there dressed in your black, buttoned tight, a dream within my dream. I have a collage of you stored in my mind, "treasures in the attic", I call them. I've practiced my dance steps holding on to you, your strength, and the nervousness leaves me. Just a few more days and we will meet, memories in abundance, a reunion of time, your face replacing that of those in front of me wishing...you were here. I awoke without, searched the skies for those fleeting moments, a shower barely seen, as I blinked away more than I saw. I remembered what I forgot, took two and sit here waiting to see if they will affect my senses, reign me emotionless, or type in secret code, unknown by even me. There's always room to write, and writes to read, although I feel absent of myself, spirit waning, wondering if you will show or hide behind your details. Function, I must function, focus on my will, trade one of me in for another, root myself in habit, challenging the dark to store itself again allowing my translations of life to be food for my soul. I am middle-paged, seduced by mystery today, reflections wavering, as I drive myself, drafting these words, knowing I overreact. I am my own real-life problem... on the outside of my windows, always looking in. M "Love is not blind - It sees more and not less, but because it sees more, it is willing to see less." |

Having habits form a foundation of activities, Habits lead to traditions And traditions take the past to the future. I have a habit of reading your writing And enjoying your words Gloom |

Maureen, such emotion and feeling you have written with this morning. I love it all, so I won't try to pick out the verse I liked best, today. Sorry that you dreamed so vividly, but glad that more of your wonderful poetry came from it. "Love makes the world go around" ~~with love and hugs from Ethel~~ [This message has been edited by garysgirl (11-19-2002 09:57 AM).] |

Very illusionary, between the pills and dreams. Emotional off balance seeking a firm foothold in a spinning world. Enjoyed. |

I am my own real-life problem on the outside of my windows, always looking in I know this feeling quite well, Maureen and I don't even need any pills to get it... Your poem is exceptional in its emotive expression ~ hugs from chipmunk peeking in Lyra |

What amazing insight this shows into the troubled psyche. I am middle-paged, seduced by mystery today, reflections wavering, as I drive myself, drafting these words, knowing I overreact.Wonderful! Kethry Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind. Unknown |
