(This is a sad song I wrote! Hanky-Alert! )

Infrared
By: Noah Eaton
11/17/02

(verse 1: acoustic)

There always comes a moment when you drown
If you don't have the proper snorkel equipment
So you submerged into your pool of blood
With your eyes open wide to analyze the moment
But down here it is impossible to translate
When all the pretext is sanguine and the plot in hemorrhage
You know you can't hear the surface from beneath
Nor can you defy gravity, cut and dry between the lines of the message

(pre-chorus 1, acoustic)

And in a world filled with anarchy and iconoclasm
I feel like a poltergeist attempting to show you the lines and circles
But you see everyone as a pathogenic
Who will spell your name out on this Ouija board?
Who will scribble it out on some Etch-A-Sketch screen?

(verse 2, acoustic)

Once you said you believed in magic
But now you say it's for the wasted and dreaming
What's the point when you can't learn how to translate?
Where do I attach the article, what preposition am I using?
Am I but some kind of gerund
A puppet dangled by a verb I could abide by?
I suppose to re-work my destiny in metaplasm
Is the only way I am going to survive

(pre-chorus 2, acoustic)

And now autumn has slept through your Pierian Spring
You've pigeon-holed all your coloring books and Benadryl
I could be your stretcher-bearer
But I can't look into your bloodshot eyes anymore
Thinking of the many things you could have easily become

(chorus, electric)

But no one can stand to hear this story
The tragedies are abridged and others tears are fallacied
Besides, you've heard these elegys before
The calligraphy is all laid out before me
But I have no time to justify this all it seems
I can't describe all I've held inside of me anymore

(verse 3, acoustic)

Stale-mate, there's no where to move
It could feel like the most heartbreaking feeling of all
Now I live on with my anger, and with my trauma
Will anything ever pull this knife out of your bosom?
No matter how far deep I swim into you, it's too thick to move around

(chorus, electric)

But no one can stand to hear this story
The tragedies are abridged and others tears are fallacied
Besides, you've heard these elegys before
The calligraphy is all laid out before me
But I have no time to justify this all it seems
I can't describe all I've held inside of me anymore

It's not going to stop...
It's not going to stop...
It's not going to stop...
It's not...

(This is about my cousin and ever since she was raped at age 10 the angst that has filled my heart and the sadness in trying to help her but nothing ever seems to work! )

Noah,

One day I would like to hear your music, and I would love for you to hear mine. This is sad, but very touching as only you can do...

Oh, dear Noah, this is so sad and my heart goes out to your cousin. Just be there for her when she needs to talk. I know you will, you have such a kind heart. hugs, Chris

Deep stuff... and very well done. Sometimes the helping seems futile...but we do not truly know what differences we might make inside ourselves and with the ones we try to offer a hand to...unless we try.

....and keep trying and keep trying and keep trying and never give up because you don't know when your kind of love will help her...it is discouraging to see or know others who've been  harmed so horribly....I believe love heals all wounds and it will be in God's own time. How blessed she is to have you.  I cannot imagine the ~sound~ of your music... this already almost makes me cry...

You are a blessing to the world, Noah.

Thanking you,
Pat

Noah, oh Noah, you have touched upon something so very deep inside of me.  I will pray for you, both.
This is a great piece of writing and this verse......

I feel like a poltergeist attempting to show you the lines and circles

This is awesome work Noah, one of your best ever.
