There are sands of difference
beneath the weight of step--
If one plods too heavily
they just increase the depth.

There is something that they know--
that we will never understand.
A camel steps on foot--tip-toe
and wind removes the veil of sand.

Every night she takes the sky
Luna makes the heavens sigh.
She takes a gentle whispered grin--
the etch-a-sketch is new again...

Bethel--that they built to Gods--
still stand--in spite of all the odds.
Our towers were a churning steel:
the rigs still pumping blood--surreal--

obscenity of an i.v.--
junkies' lust--reality--
penetrating earth like skin--
we all applaud and scream "again".

And shoot our waste upon our walls--
We built the stilts. We measured fall.

Karen, you really do amaze me with your abilities. You can write about so many subjects and in so many different styles. And you keep the attention of the reader in them all.
Thanks for sharing with us.
BTW you know the Bible, also, don't you?

I see your ~new~ little sister, Ethel and your big sister Karilea are here....
Taking good care of you, one way or another...how sweet...

So cute.

You are an outstanding poet! Though I don't always reply, your poetry is remarkable, and I enjoy it a great deal, Serenity... Thanks.
