I sat on the front porch last night
recalling the days from my past,
remembered that blue 67 camaro with the 327
and how I LOVED to drive it fast.
{catch me if you can...}
     She screamed like the wind
when I put the hammer down
     and all the guys watched
when I cruised around the town.

     The tough guys all asked
when I pulled into that old bar
what's a sweet girl like you
doing with a fast cruisin car?

Then I'd just laugh and smile as I said
"Don't you know that old saying is true,
some of us young wild eyed girls
     like driving fast cars too."

In silence I sat and thought
about all of my old crazy ways,
     thinking about those times
oh how they were the good old days!

     Yeah, those days of yesteryear
     I surely still am missing,
as I sit on the front porch
     rockin'.....and reminiscing....

Thanks for the fun write this morning, Donna! I'm not quite ready for that rocking chair (unless it's rocking babies) but I can still relate to the reminiscing..

Thanks!

Toe, you not only flatter me but you make me smile!
Thank you.   I'm not that young!  (well in my mind I am...) I loved that car though...gave it up for
a chevelle with a 4 barrel holly carb, but the Camaro was my joy.   The driving fast thing though......
that never changes even though my age does!
Have a great day Toe!

Keth I do the r and r thing alot now.  ah but a gal can always dream though right?  Hugggs

Too, too delightful, even if you're a long way from the 'rockin' and reminiscing' of the guy in the graphic.

The words and rhyme are charming and the message as well.

Donna

My joy was my 56 chevy.  The tocking chair of memories should never go out of style.  It's one of those things you can always depend on.  Thanks for sharing yours.

I love this, Donna. Makes me think about my black  areocoupe SSMonte Carlo. They only made a limited amount of them in 1987...just enough for Dale Earnhardt (#3) to drive it in Nascar that year. The first two speeding tickets I got in my whole life were the ones I got in that car. That car would go   SOOOOO  FAST.  I loved it. Pretended I was on the race track a lot when I drove it. HaHa!!

Mine was a 1967 Pontiac GTO, black on black, with dual exhausts.  Memories are nice, making new ones, even nicer.  Enjoyed this, Donna.   *hugs*

Haha...those were the best of times, I would love to still ride in one of those '67 Camaros with my friends, or one of those Silver Thunderbirds like Mark Cone sung of. Best wishes and tidings to you!
