I read an article in our local paper about a young 3 year old boy who was born with severe physical and mental disabilities. His parents have been nominated in the Family of the Year Award for their devotion to their son as well as being involved in a volunteer program to look after other children with disabilities each month.I was so inspired by Henry & Penny Hanssen that I felt the need to write about their love, loyalty and selflessness towards others. * * * * How proud you both should be Of your beautiful little boy An angel sent from heaven To fill your hearts with joy With a smile so very radiant And a warmth to rival the sun Your cherub's name is Darcy And to you he is number one Together you work tirelessly Helping those in desperate need Many others in our society Should follow your inspiring lead You put others before yourself For there is nothing you wouldn't do So very fortunate is your son To have loving parents like you I am in motion |

Sue, you know how I cry when you write this type of beautiful and touching poem based on real life people. How lucky this little guy is to have parent's so loving and caring. God will bless them abundantly. Thank you for sharing their goodness with all of us. Huggles, Marti "I am not afraid of STORMS for I have learned how to sail my SHIP." |

Sue: A beautiful poem for some beautiful people. As the mother of a "special" boy, I always commend anyone who makes an effort to help these unfortunate ones and that includes writing poetry about them! Betty Lou Hebert |
