Anger is the order of the day today. Anger over love unrecieved. Like a cloud of smog over a sleeping city. Like lost Gods in a physical realm. Like tears in the rain. Aye, anger asserts it's bitter presence today. Like an unsolved homicide, collecting dust in the drawer of some office in a police station. Like an unacknowledged scuicide. (i wonder what happened to HER) Like the blood on my nose. Indeed, anger, like a hewn white gravestone, sits in my heart today. Painful anger, like a friend you've always known, who blows himself away. Like the sound of two thousand lives ending, a rumble and dust cloud on the horizon. Anger, like a selfish billionaire, brews within me. Seething anger, like the radioactive crater where New York City used to be. Anger, like piles of dead bodies, grows inside of me. Like a starving family in a rocky desert. Anger, like toxic fields of crops. Like an infant child executed, given a soldiers death. Like knowing you wasted your life upon breathing your last breath. Anger, like Christ on the cross. Anger, like a melody of church bells, rings on within me. Anger, like a seagull against a hurricaine. Like a McDonalds in a starving ghetto. Anger, like the fear of death, the quiet desperation in your plastic smile. The distance in your eyes. I have sent you nothing but angels, and I have placed nothing but miracles before you. |

Joseph, what a powerful poem....with so many truths in it. Yes, anger is a very strong emotion that I believe everyone has felt at some point in their lives. It's how the person handles anger that really matters. Don't you think? "Love makes the world go around" |

You have managed to convey your anger in a truly unique and powerfull way here! I can definately relate. Thanks so much for sharing this. One word of caution however, we all get angry, especially about the things and events you have described, but to harbor the anger only intensifies and magnifies it, breeding hate and yet more anger. Anger may be the event of the day, but it is through love and compassion that we will survive it. Tammy [This message has been edited by Tammy Blessing (11-12-2002 02:35 AM).] |

thank you all for your replies. Yes, we all handle anger in our own way. I suppose writing this helped, because I was very angry that day. I'm better now though!! :-) Yes, anger is dangerous. It can destroy you from within. My advice is never to let it consume you, because you could end up doing something bad. Anger can also serve as a positive reinforcement if coupled with a sense of humor. Tammy Blessing, i like your reply. You are very right. Bless you all I have sent you nothing but angels, and I have placed nothing but miracles before you. |
