Forgotten times of simple rhymes, ...in search of Mother Goose, Aesop's fables, Brother's Grimm, ...Cat in the Hat and Seuss, Mary, Mary, quite contrary, ...where did your garden go? As Jack and Jill went up the hill, ...with three blind mice in tow, Little Jack Horner, sat in a corner, ...got up and ran away, He left his pie, while in the sky, ...the man in the moon got lost, Then Jack be nimble sat on his candle, ...got nipped by old Jack Frost, Little boy blue came down with the flu, ...and Mary lost her lamb, Thin Jack Sprat he got some fat, ...eating green eggs and ham, Hansel and Gretel got stuck in the kettle, ...snacking on curds and whey, While Wee Willie Winkie, fell down on his pinkie, ...when Old Mother Hubbard snuck away. As all around the mulberry bush, ...played Simple Simon and friend, On top of Old Smokey, I played patty-cake, ...good night, sleep tight, the end. I wonder where my childhood went, ...lost in a simpler time, I wonder where my childhood went, ...lost in a simpler rhyme. [This message has been edited by Tim (11-04-2002 07:01 PM).] |

unfortunatly as we age we loose our distinctive personality and imagination, and start thinking about different things. I'm glad to see that imagination has stayed with you |

Ticklishy, Deliciously, Delightful! I wrote a song for children and filled it to the brim with nursery rhymes. Kids love it and they would most definitely adore this wondrously marvellous poem of yours! I'm saving this one right now!....done! Very, very clever! EA |

I utterly adore this and will read to my oldest grandchild, for, he will know the differences. He has a great sense of humor, as obviously, do you. Truly fun to read. Warm Regards, Pat ..without surrender, be on good terms with all persons.. |

Ah, something to read to the children at 10...who are wise enough to still know their childhood, itching for adulthood...who knows? It could be just the thing to slow them just a little.... |

Tim, I don't have any little grandchildren or other kids here to read this delightful poem to. But, that's quite all right........... I've got enough kid in me to love it. I always have loved nursery rhymes. Thanks for sharing. Love makes the world go 'round (unkown) |

Hello Tim This was such a wonderful write and took me back to my childhood. I guess the child lives in all of us, I know it does in me. I want to thank you for the most beautiful verse you gave me after you read my poem "Won't You Please Take Me There". I was truly overwhelmed and warmed by your words. I hope all is well in your part of the world. Take care......Sue I am in motion |

(big hugggssssssss) God Bless You, sweet friend, I know this yearning ever so well as I miss my childhood so much as I lived through depression and failed to enjoy many moments and now try to hang onto whatever aftertaste of the boy in my heart! (sigh) Know the spirit of boy is always in you, sweet friend, nurture it dear, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Tim, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Love, Noah Eaton "Underneath your clothes there's an endless story..." |
