Take my hand and hold it dear Use your love to keep me near Today the pricks have taken toll And I dwell in dark night of soul Whisper soft within my ear All those things to keep me here Brightest joy hides like a mole As I go through dark night of soul Though my tears be soft and long Please recall me from this song I have cleaved my heart on shoal Cleansed by love of dark night of soul Till the daylight comes along And once more I can be strong Keep me from depression's knoll And hold me through dark night of soul My soul is dark and I must sleep Yet I will trust that you can keep From my shoulders as a stole The weight I feel - dark night of soul My soul cries out in bitter weep And goes to him who rends in reap How quickly life does take its toll Till I am all dark night of soul Then your arms around me dear Can hold the joy and keep from fear Make light and warmth from shard of coal Deny the darkness of my soul When your love has held me near And morning shines with you still here And I shall seek you as my goal Then walk with you to be made whole Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind.
