He put it so close to my eyes that all I saw was blur. I took his hand and moved it back and then I saw it was brochure. A package tour of Europe-- fourteen nights and thirteen days. Then he just got angry-- he recognized my heart's dismay. Europe...oh my cherished dream. but not like THIS--no--not like...this. I understood he felt betrayed. I too, felt a Judas kiss. How could I explain to him that dreams cannot be bought on whim? I didn't want to go--he knew-- not with HIM--no...not with him. Too beautiful a dream of heart to trade it for a stand in line. I could not make him understand-- one does not quickly gulp fine wine. "You could ruin anything." I was thinking the same thing. But Paris must be seen, in love... and Europe still remains my dream. Oh man. Is this true? Geesh. What do we sacrifice for a dream? Do we take what's offered - the crumb of bread or wait for the whole perfect loaf. Well written missy! |

thank you...so much... um... and grin to Sharon..you know my story, "IT'S FICTION" (oh, and edited a line and typo's too..forgot to add the bitters ) came back to add, that the answers to your other questions are in the first stanza--the first two lines are my metaphor... heart hugs to all, with thanks to H. for the inspiration of her beautiful poem. They seem to give us just what they want us to have. Not what we want. This is a beautiful poem. |

Karen, thanks for the explantions in the replies, otherwise, I would have probably made a long reply that was completely opposite of your meaning. I have a tendency to do that with the work of you talented poets. (well, here I go again....) Seriously, you write beautiful poetry and this was no exception. As with all your work, I enjoyed reading it. Thanks for sharing. Love makes the world go 'round (unkown) with love and hugs from Ethel [This message has been edited by garysgirl (11-03-2002 09:20 AM).] |

But Paris must be seen, in love... ...or not at all. No matter how good looking she is... someone, somewhere is glad she's gone. |

Thanks again...this seemed to be one women in particular could relate to--although I do sometimes feel sorry for him at times... smiling at Smartchick's comment--for this is true, but when he asked me what I wanted for a wedding present? I said "a divorce." And you are right- --I didn't get one! |

"You could ruin anything." I was thinking the same thing. But Paris must be seen, in love... and Europe still remains my dream. These lines are so perfect. This is so Beautiful …you are very amazing...you write with such deep feelings. Believe me Serenity...France is a place that must be seen no matter what...maybe you could visit France and fall in love with a nice Frenchman??? Or a nice Jewish man *wink*. Well I just love this one...and I will read it many times and when I go back to Normandy I will think of this wonderful poem. Hugs H.
