While walking around outside, on this beautiful sunny day I heard a loud noise above, a gleeful sound, like something busy at play I looked up in the sky, clear clouds in shining bright blue I saw a huge flock of birds, was more than just a few Flying all together, sounding like in rhyme It seemed they were laughing, having a good ole time They must have been happy to feel the smiling sun's warm ray And away from the North they plan, for quite some time to stay Now, I won't attempt to name them, these beautiful birds I see For the ones I said were "Mockingbirds", I learned were "Hummingbirds", really [This message has been edited by garysgirl (10-31-2002 03:38 PM).] |

Ethel I wondered about that when I read your other poem..because you described them flying in one place and backing up..I wondered how they could be mockingbirds..LOL...very cute second poem...always something new to learn..that's a good thing. |

Oh Ethel..if they truly were Hummingbirds I really do wish I could have seen them. You see...I went away to a magical place in the summer and when I stood very still and held out my hand.. one almost landed on my finger.. Beautiful! ~Hugs~ ~ Time has cast a spell on you |

Ethel - That's OK, we understand patronizing, sugary sweet words while patting your hand It's the thought that counts. Nice poem, too. |

This is so sweet, Ethel... We have a Fuschia plant hanging by our front door... where we can see it from the kitchen window... and every night at dusk, all summer long, the Hummingbirds would come and suck the nectar from it... They are so tiny...and so graceful ~ loving chipmunk hugs Lyra |

Hummingbirds are so cool. Especially how fast they move. Cold hands means a warm heart |

I like to think that hummingbirds come from the sparkle in God's eye...A fluff of feather with amazing colour and energy...a true miracle...Enchantress maybe next time one will actually land on your finger...thank you Garysgirl... ...believe what your heart feels... |

So that's where all my hummingbirds went. They are my favorite birds of all. |

(smiles) Yay!!! Oh my gosh, I love hummingbirds sooooooooo much as I love all kinds of birds, I even wrote this poem about them before last year that is one of my favorites I've ever written! (kiss on cheek) I wish I could fly like a butterfly and feel that happy grace as they do, sweet friend, I love this, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Ethel, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Love, Noah Eaton "Underneath your clothes there's an endless story..." |

Martie...Yeah, I know. Thanks, sweet lady, for reading and for your replies. Nancy Lee....AAAAWWWW. The little Hummingbirds are so cute. I wish it had landed on your finger and that someone could have got a picture of it. Mr. Sailor Man....thanks for your "patronizing, sugary sweet words while patting your hand" words!!! I really appreciate them!!! HeeHee!!! Lyra.......ooohh, that's so sweet. I know. they're so little, aren't they? I love them. Julie...I know. Aren't they fast, though? And can stay in one place for so long. Scorpio....your reply is so sweet..."a fluff of feather with amazing colour an energy..." Now, those words are beautiful and magical. Sue...thanks for your sweet reply. Hummingbirds are my favorite, too. Noah...thanks for your sweet reply. Aren't birds and butterflies just so cute? I love them. Linda...thanks, sweet lady. I'm glad the poem made you feel happy. Cheryl...I'm glad it made you happy, too, and that you could hear them hum. Thanks, everybody, for your sweet replies. When I found out that I named the wrong bird in the other poem, I felt a little silly. Gary's Dad and Mom told me when I mentioned him taking the close-up pictures of the "Mockingbirds". He told me that he had took pictures of "Hummingbirds", never any Mockingbirds, and I said...UH--OOOHHH!!!! Anyway, ya'll were all really nice about it when I wrote the other Poem. Just shows how sweet ya'll are!!! ~~~Love and Hugs to All~~~ Ethel |
