I liked me Uncle Larry When I was a child But as time went on He decided to go off His medications Which wasn't such a smart move He is manic depressive And Schiczophernic (sp?) He chooses to be homeless And not ask for help Or take his medicine Which makes us Uncomfortable with him He has had this problem Since he was in his early teens Which is sad That he won't seek help He likes to compare me To his ex-girlfriends See how uncomfortable He makes me feel? He makes me Mom uncomforatble For a totally different reason You see He molested her When she was just a young teen So I can understand Why she is so uncomfortable around him I wish he would just Seek the help he needs But I know He never will seek The help he needs Cold hands means a warm heart |

I could help him... warrior-style. What is life without poetry and adventure? |

Julie, this a well-written poem with a lot of feeling showing through. I can feel love, but also fear. Thanks for sharing your feelings. Love To All, Ethel |

So sad, Julie. It's all part of the disease, the not taking the meds, not wanting help. Most of the homeless are mentally ill. Unfortunately, most will never be helped. |

(big hugggssssss) Oh Julie, this is so very sad, sweet friend, so many need this special kind of care and compassion so much but sadly many never get it while others desire not to receive it when their conditions and chemical imbalances affect them! (sad sigh) My heart goes out to your uncle in the hope a breakthrough can be made, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Julie, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Love, Noah Eaton "Underneath your clothes there's an endless story..." |

This is so tragic, Julie.... But I think that writing it out in a poem is very therapeutic... Thanks for sharing it with us ~ lots of hugs Lyra |
