If I said yes,
And gazed deep into your warm eyes and smiled,
Would any of my dreams come true?

Are you a wolf in sheep's clothing,
Who'd corner me, devour me,
And leave me just an empty shell?

Would one simple word
Open up a door to paradise,
Or just a jagged hole to hell?

If I said yes
If I . . .

And if I said yes,
Wrapped myself around you,
With contented sighs,
Would you understand that it's forever?

Do you play the game
By a different name,
Win all the pieces to leave me broken?

Would one simple word
Open up a door to my heart,
Or just a wound I cannot heal?

Finally, love, if I said yes..
Would you really still want me anyway?

If I said yes,
If I . . .

Poetry is:
Passion, imagination and intellect running together.

Aloha with warmest regards, Cheryl Stewart Koomoa

Wonderful write Cher...
Questions most of us ponder
when we know we're about to fall...
head over heels in love.

Cher darling girl this is utterly utterly wonderful When I think you have reached the peak of perfection you then write something that is so perfect and full of beauty I find my heart sighing in wonder. As always darling heart your writing is exceedingly good. You of course know I adore this don’t you? Mmmmm I do!

Thank you for this true delight, it is so entrancing to the soul of the reader

Thy coolness and they balm
Let sense be dumb let flesh retire
Speak through the earthquake wind and fire

Cher, this is very well done, both in style and content.

You touched on an issue male and female alike, experience, I believe, when beginning a new relationship. Allowing ourselves to be vulnerable and trust. Hard to do, but, necessary.

Enjoy your poetry.

Warmly,
Pat

Cher, oh, I know the feeling. I suppose you have to trust your intuition as to whether you should say "yes" or not!

May it all work out as you so desire!

Great writing!
