Shadows fall in ferny glen while sunshine dapples o'er the vale I think of you within this ken my memory soft within the dale Autumn leaves lie crisp and gold reminding me to live once more and in the dale the sunshine holds the strands of joy for evermore Dozing, resting in this glen with dappled sunshine on my brow I wonder bout the way back when and smile, a smile of joy for now As sunshine covers me with light here within this sacred dale I am amused and in plain sight but no one sees, I'm hid by veil Imagination runs its course here within the ferny glen I see you riding - knight on horse and smile the smile of way back when The day grows cool the sunshine fades I rise and leave this hidden vale I have the day and all I've made return in promise with my tale Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind. Enjoyed this soft play on words. Almost sestinic with it's repetition a' la school of Weldon Kees in it's rounding but gentler. |

Toe, thank you kind sir, I could send you some not so good writing(which is two out of three) but you wouldn't like it. As for Vegemite you eat it, if you spread it thinly on toast to begin with you will find you develop a taste for it. Also if you put it directly on mouth ulcers it causes them to go in about an hour (however as the doctor's would say this might sting a little.  )RSWells, thank you for the Sestina observation, it is a play on words but I'm not telling you which ones and why. garysgirl, thank YOU for stopping by to read my work and liking it enough to come back an comment. suthern, it was a hidden vale within the dale. *smug smile. I knew you would know exactly what to do with your gifts and that Toe would not, baffling Toe is my heart's desire. I love it when a plan comes together. sunnyone, thank you for your comments. Keth beloved heart what can I say except see how wonderful you are. One day, when you are the famous writer who effortlessly write stanzas at the drop of a hat, I shall remind you that you needed to be coerced often to post your work. Now say after me I AM A GOOD WRITER, say it believe it and live it. You are you know and it is in the realms of dreams where your touch stirs me most, one of your most dazzling arts is that you show the picture colour the canvas and shine the light.
