I smoked my share of trees but failed to see the forest Or hear the chorus in the breeze that caught my stare And I was caught in a snare upon God’s very doorsteps When I crucified myself on the cross and the blood loss Made me hallucinate. I started to lose my faith, so I unveiled My soul and set my faith loose like a dog from a leash And followed each wish while chasing my tail. I stepped into the river to be baptized, but soon realized That the feathers on my wings became fetters And I started to sink under the strain until I clogged the drain, And I woke up covered in ink like an unread letter.
