Loneliness, sweet loneliness, And here I am again, Writing words to no one, And chewing on my pen, Empty of emotion, And yet so damned forlorn, I’m desperately hunting roses, And only finding thorns. Romance died in lovers’ arms, And now I’m all alone, A romantic lacking romance, And a fool without a throne. And last of all, a poet Who has lost his will to rhyme, And left himself to wish for things, That vanished with his prime. ------------------------------------ Horrible excuse for a poem...but at least it's a poem. -An Annoyed Adam |

"Loneliness, sweet loneliness," I really liked that opening, it struck a chord with me. I didn't think the poem was too bad, I've felt like that for quite awhile. But now I'm starting to write again and things are going better. If you wrote that as a personal poem, I hope you can begin to write things you are pleased with again! |

She hands a guy a spaceship so he can get away to leave behind all the pain and... unpoetness... and to have a clingon named Rhonda Sorry, got a little carried away there, but I hope it made you smile, my friend. You know you can always talk to me, right? No, on second thought, let's not go to Camelot. |

I'll say ur an elder. You were here before me. The second stanza... "Empty of emotion, And yet so damned forlorn, I’m desperately hunting roses, And only finding thorns" ...was what did it for me in this poem. Roses and Thorns. How to find the first without grabbing a handful of the second, now that is lifes greatest mystery. ex animo, Aaron Woodside There are no great men, only men in great circumstances. |
