The Rose |

The red rose attracted unfamiliar faces They touched the smooth petals, devoured the aroma and could almost taste it Smothered by fantasy and trapped by wishes What was needed was reality, but they dismissed it With no knowledge of the harm, they still reached out Soon to feel the pain of what they didn't know about It was invisible to their engrossed eyes Because at the time, the rose was preparing their cries The next touch was the last, the thorn split the skin The blood seeped out of the wound and they turned away leaving the rose forgotten The rose was only one hint to them that eventually Everything is bound to hurt essentially. |

hhmm...I really like the whole "rose" idea. You used a good choice of vocabulary in this too... |
