Hi there, everybody! This is the first of what will be many challenges presented here in the Teen Poetry forum. A new challenge or challenges will be presented either once every two weeks or once a month, depending on the response. I will be posting the challenges, but each of you is welcome to submit ideas at any time. If you have a suggestion for a challenge, just e-mail me and let me know, and, as long as it's an appropriate subject matter, it will be used. So...that having been said...here is your first challenge. This one was suggested by Rhonda/Skyfire. Challenge: Write a poem about the best day of your life, up to this point. You may use any poetic style that you wish, so be creative. I'm looking forward to reading your responses. Please post your responses to the challenges in a new thread in the Teen Poetry forum, and not in this thread. Good luck, and above all, have fun! "...until you have read the verse on his heart, you have not truly met the poet. ~vlraynes [This message has been edited by vlraynes (10-18-2002 10:07 PM).] |

rain=muggy. I prefer the clouds, and cool breezes without the rain, unless it's cool temps and hard rain. Then it's fun. I'll consider doing this challenge, my good woman, but to be frank, I'm not sure if I have 'a best day.' They all sort of blend together, the bad and the good, into an existence I ponder as a whole, for the most part. Sincerely, Titus "My imaginary friend thinks you have serious mental problems." I'll give it a try but I don't write about happiness because it pisses me off so it more than likely wont be posted. "No hesitation, no delay |

Lisa...hi there! Great to see you around here. I can't wait to read your challenge response. Jen...thanks for jumping in on this one so quickly. AND...not ENOUGH rain! LOL! Never enough! Hmmmm...perhaps a letter IS in order. Ti...bite your tongue! In Phoenix, ANY rain is GOOD rain! If you don't think you have a 'best day' then write about a 'really good day'..lol. I'm SURE you can come up with something. Elizabeth...well, I can't force you to post it, of course, but I would love to see it should you decide to share it after all. LP...and what makes you think you can't write something 'positive' without being 'corny'? Yep...I do know that there would have been a 'massive' response to that, but many of you write about 'worst' days or moments or experiences all the time, so where's the 'challenge' in that? Thank you to all of you who are participating, and I hope to see more join in too. I'll be watching for your poems. Which reminds me...what Jen did with her post was great. She titled it 'Challenge Number One'. You don't have to do that if you don't want to, but I would suggest that you include, somewhere in the title line that it is for the challenge so it's easier to spot. OR...if you'd rather not mention the challenge in the title, but you want to make sure it doesn't get missed, then just post a link to it in this thread. Don't post the whole poem here, though...just the link. Have fun! |

LoL oh...wow...you just made me realize ive been outta school for a year and a half now... WoW... Have you ever heard that "No shirt, No shoes" rule? My question is...Why doesn't that rule include pants? |

Challenge met (I suppose). Now go read it. Sanity is in itself enough to make you insane. |

Looks like Rhonda's challenge was a hit. So Vicky - have you decided if you're going monthly or biweekly? [This message has been edited by Local Parasite (10-21-2002 04:20 PM).] |
