A Monotetra-Each stanza contains four lines in monorhyme. Each line is in tetrameter (four metrical feet) for a total of eight syllables. The last line contains two metrical feet, repeated. Stanza Structure: Line 1: 8 syllables; A1 Line 2: 8 syllables; A2 Line 3: 8 syllables; A3 Line 4: 4 syllables, repeated; A4, A4 Invisible girl, she does crave Everything that this sorrow gave Lightly skimming through love's white waves A heart enslaved, a heart enslaved Sweet, sweet song doth grace her fair ears Though see how its faint anguish sears Composed of mellifluous tears And lover's fears, and lover's fears Journalized death is her reprieve Beautiful things, with pen, she weaves Words that bottle and swift, deceive Of Hades' eve, of Hades' eve Makes castles with her lofty dreams Creased parchment stained with ink, redeemed Covered in paper art, it seems You hear her screams, you hear her screams Indentations on her white hands From blackened grief and cruel demands A poet's will, her murder grand Like torment, stands..like torment, stands Now listen as the music dies Performed with delicate demise Just o'er the sound of broken lies She softly cries, she softly cries... For saints have hands that pilgrims' hands do touch, And palm to palm is holy palmers' kiss.--"Romeo and Juliet" [This message has been edited by IndigoEve (08-19-2003 10:02 PM).] |
