Why Out of all the people in your life Must I be the one left holding you up? The one left to Clean up your used tissues Your used hearts Broken memories and Freeze dried tears? Do I always have to be the one To dance across this Broken glass alphabet Of torn up poems and one, two, threes? As I hold your hand and we pirouette I think about our relationship And how I love to hate you And hate to love you I want to tell you to leave me and get a life But the truth is, I can’t live without you And yeah, I smoke too much Write too much, cry too much Don’t go to church enough and don’t sing enough But when I look in the mirror I look like you Far too much for my liking I wish I had hair as long as my heart And hips as small as my veins So Yeah I always have to be the one to pick up thje pieces That I leave behind And the broken hearts I tread on every day Because You are me and I am you And I hate to love me And love to hate me It makes us feel alive (( what would Freud say?)) This Cool Night Air Is Curious... [This message has been edited by collarbone_girl (08-04-2003 01:29 PM).] |
