You looked into my eyes Searching for things that are no longer there The sparks of hope The glimmer of happiness The pit of anguish The well of sorrow The fires of love The icy depths of hatred you searched again and again but could find nothing, finally you looked into my eyes and asked "Why?.." a hint of confusion in your voice, you repeated it this time saying, "Why can't you love me? Do you even feel?!" my face remained unchanged I simply replied "Rocks don't feel" Tears streamed down your face as I turned away How could you have known of those before you, who sought out those same signs the women who melted the icy depths of hatred blew out the fires of passion drowned me in the well of sorrow locked me away in the pit of anguish basked in the glimmer of happiness then trampled the sparks of hope How could you have known that hearts become rocks when all the signs of life are destroyed. |

Nice. Very nice...! I don't have much else to say other than that. I'm lost for words... ~Jess "At the touch of love, everything becomes a poem." -Plato |

Woah. Very powerful poem. The imagery is perfect. I really love this one, especially the last 4 lines. Well done. WinterWren |
