Standing In Silence...

I watch him cough in his sleep,
And I feel an emotion I though
was impossible for me...
    PITY.
He is sick, he can't shake it.
Now I know where I get my
weak immune system.
    HIM.
But that's okay, he's still a good man.
I got his attitude, his humor,
his stubbornness, even his birthday, I'm
    PROUD.
There's a toughness about him,
but a weakness too....me.
I watch him cough in his sleep...
    FATHER.

Wow Stac...I really liked this. I can never seem to write anything about a family member without it sounding stupid...but you did a really nice job. You definitely have a way with words. This is really touching...and you know me...I don't use the word 'touching' a whole lot...LoL. Anyway, nice job. Love's.

Thanks you three. My dad is really sick right now and this came to me one night while I was listening to him cough..Eh..On a happier note, thanks for the replies, glad you liked it.
