It comforts me to see the house next door with its lights still on at this hour of the night. Because it's good to know I am not the only one who has trouble with sleep. And I'll lay in bed for what seems like hours as a minute passes by and thoughts fly through my head. And I can't help but think that there is no point to anything I do. It is all leading up to that one fateful day when my life decides to run away from me because it got too scared to stick around. But sometimes I wonder when my life will begin. When I'll wake up each day awaiting something new. Instead of dreading morning because every day's the same. And I'm up late again because there's no point in sleep and the neighborhood is screaming in its silence as families quietly sleep though they know that tomorrow is just like today and yesterday's a memory of a place you wish still existed. It's comforting to see the house next door with its lights still on at this hour of the night. |

I really liked the imagery in this piece. There is some strange comfort in knowing that there's someone else up at the same time as you are. ~I haven't memorized all of the cute things to say but I'm working on it~ |
