Oh, pensive dreamer! I see you in the wake of my mourning Pen in hand You are the muse to the weary Lonely times are the fruit of this passion The trail of stardust you leave is eminent Thoughts dipped in honeyed smoothness Ah, caress me, gentle one Hands of silk cannot hinder motion Lest I glide along the breeze Oh, twilit dreamer! Stars be our hymn of longing Watch me, adorned in astral stillness Poised Penumbral lullabies woven midst my hair I reach for you Why, why, why must you fall away? Lost to the darkness of midnight's breath A painted glory Yet you cannot see the azure sorrow that stains my face Oh, seductive dreamer! Holding me fast, to the edge of illusion Shall I give in? My heart bleeding for that touch Ghostly and pure One whole existence shattered, Breaking, Gone. I am left with the scars of your affection (Whisper now... teardrops fall.... one... by... one.) can't you hear them? landing...on the rain-soaked ground. (covered) Evening pours out its soul to me Alive in vibrant music All a memory All a world So very far from here And so I murmur Speaking nothing but butterflies' fears "Look at you, my love. Thou art splendidly beautiful in the sun's sweet light. Come nearer, be my own." (but you strayed. and the sunrise cried for mercy. [shallow] 'tis sadly the destiny of a lover's need.) Oh, pensive dreamer. (Heaven waits.) Oh, twilit dreamer. (Nighttime sears.) Oh, seductive dreamer. (My cravings die.) So all the skies can hear me whisper "Oh my keeper, my only dream..." For saints have hands that pilgrims' hands do touch, And palm to palm is holy palmers' kiss.--"Romeo and Juliet" [This message has been edited by IndigoEve (06-27-2003 05:12 PM).] |

My mind is just reeling from this one! I tried to pick a favorite line or stanza while I was reading it, but I love them all. This just might be the best poem I have read on this site. Beautiful! WinterWren |
