Nine Years

These nine years
added up to nothing
as you throw it all away
for someone you've only known a year.
Sure she probably knows you better
than I ever did
but when you say that I don't care
I hope you know
it's all your fault.
You used to be different
but that changed
like your friends and priorities did.
Now you lose others because
you "hate their weakness"
but you can't bear to see
your friends go away
because you're afraid they'll come back
and have forgotten all about you.
You're weak just like everyone
in fact, you're weaker than most.
When you say we don't spend time together
and you're sorry about that
I hope you know
it's all your fault.
Now you're too much trouble
for me to keep up with
and I feel disconnected
because I don't have a clue
to who you are.
These nine years
were all for nothing
just to come to where we are now
merely acquaintances
with nothing to talk about.
I hope you know
it's all your fault.

makes me think of all the friends i used to know and no longer know, and for what? for stupid reasons, because of those, we no longer talk
