Plastic Rose

You are the plastic rose,
a clean idealised form that never withers,
sanitised and simplified,
but everything is lost in the crude reflection.
Give me fleeting reality,
even with the thorns that scratch and bite.
The real rose may loose its splendour
but oh those days of bloom!
Give me a glimpse of brilliance for a few passing seconds,
rather than a life time of the watered down.
You are my plastic rose,
just an imitation my love,
merely a poor imatation.
