"Evelyn" She's a waitress at ol' man O'Neal's bar Where me and the boys we do come a lot And she always smile taking our orders In her dirty apron with her small block But the boys always give her a hard time She's used to it so she don't ever mind Every time that we start up the jukebox I see her in the background dance along So when the boys play their dart or pool games I walk over and request a new song Handing out beers from the bartender saol She says:"Thank you for the dance beautiful" Oh, you don't find a lot of women With a heart as big as Evelyn's Who put's up with crap day after day Who never take the cowardly way Sweet, sweet Evelyn.. "I'm an actress working as a waitress Just trying to earn up some extra cash" she says "Will you walk me home after work When I am done taking out all the trash" Smile at her I would be delighted to I will just sit right here and wait for you About the actress thing just go for it Look around and tell me what's there to lose Do you wanna be old and mis'rable It's time that you put on your courage shoes Here's for realists and none believers Not a place for spirits or for dreamers Oh, you don't find a lot of women With a heart as big as Evelyn's Who put's up with crap day after day Who never take the cowardly way Sweet, sweet Evelyn.. (Spoken) Two weeks later I have an urge to see her Again... Ol' man O'Neal comes and brings me a letter Says:"She left you a little something it seems Before heading out toward the walk of fame About time she started reaching for her dreams" (Spoken) About three months and tons of letters later, she writes... Fortune and fame's begun nipping at my heels But I'll never forget just where I came from And here's a ticket to starry Hollywood Because I want you to see what I've become Oh, you don't find a lot of women With a heart as big as Evelyn's Who put's up with crap day after day Who never take the cowardly way Sweet, sweet Evelyn.. Sweet, sweet Evelyn.. |

I thought this was a very beautiful story spelled out in song and cant believe everyones missed it! There might be a spelling mistake but besides that I'm sorry I have no critiques....Its good...Princess |
