hah! That I am only a teen
I know not what I want
Oh I know you laugh at me
I can hear all your ridicule
Because I am only a teen
So it pains me deep inside
But you don't know that
'Cause all I do is lash out at you
Making you think I hate you
Because I am only a teen
maybe I'm not so intelligent
To be a straight-A student in college
But at least I can pass all my classes now
What do you know about me
For I am only a teen
I am inferior to your incredible intelligence
or lack thereof
I try to get a job
And you laugh at me
Because I am only a teen
They don't want to hire me
But so what I don't care
Because I am only a teen
I have to move out soon
My heart beats with excitement
I just can't wait to get away from you
So what if I live alone and broke
In a box on the street
Or wherever i happen to be
At least i won't be with you
Because you think so comtemptously of me
Just because I am only a teen

I don't know if today is a good day, or if yesterday was, or if tomorrow will be, but I'd like to think so.

O man you said it all for me. If thats not totally how i feel about my mother. I was an only child until she got divorced when i was eight and met this creap and had a baby when i was eleven. Neadless to say my little brother calls me mommy sometimes... im now a freshmen with no rights at all. and my brothers three. It sucks to all he!!. Keep it up it works for me.

Be strong, be independant, but don't lock yourself off from people through it...
And there's no such thing as "only a teen"...you are a unique human being whose instinct for survival is flourishing, no matter what age and stage you're at
