Hanging by a thread, Watching my friend go by, In his casket white. I swallow my tears. Talk to him? Can't. I miss the debates we would have. Laugh with him? Can't. I miss the corny jokes. Cry with him? Why? I am already crying. Deep inside, The pain hurts so much. Just thinking about him makes me... Want to scream: Why!? Why did you have to go? I didn't even say goodbye. Too suddenly, your life ended. I move on, and there are days, Where I am numb.... There are days where I, Want to scream... There are days when I, Wish I could've been there, With you in your last moments, So at least I can say "good bye". Don't be dismayed at good-byes. A farewell is necessary before you can meet again. And meeting again, after moments or lifetimes, is certain for those who are friends. Richard Bach [This message has been edited by FlyingCloud (05-16-2003 06:06 PM).] |

I'm sorry. You sound hurt, I don't know what it's like to lose such a close friend, but you did a wonderful job at expressing your feelings. It brought a tear to my eyes. Great Poem! -Erica- |

This was a great write. I appreciate it so much. Final goodbyes are hard with so many questions. I like the style this was in. It was good to the point " I think I got a tan from the light in which i was basking." |

...sigh...I'm so sorry that you have to go through the pain and heartache of a friend lost. I know to well the feeling, having lost a friend of my own to quickly and without the chance to say goodbye. The poem brought tears to my eyes and any poem that can provoke that much emotion is a materpiece indeed. ~Live and Laugh~ Always strive for excellence never perfection. |

Very good poem that I enjoyed reading "Being grown up isn't half as fun as growing up; these are the best days of our lives" |

FlyingCloud, I'm so sorry to hear about your friend. I'm sure that they know you still care about them, and your friend will live on in your memories. I wish there was more I could say, but nicely expressed emotions. ~Elizabeth Dreams last for so long, even after you're gone... |

Oh, wow... I don't believe I can imagine the depth of the pain of losing a friend. You expressed yourself beautifully, although I almost wish I wouldn't have felt this poem the way I did. Beautiful write. --Marie "You can be idealistic for all of ten seconds before you die." (Imitation of Life) |

I believe that everything happens for a reason, but I also know that sometimes that reason it quite hard to find. This is tough, but a great poem. Thanks for sharing this. - Cody - |
