Ah, its great to be back...  Wishing upon painted stars, How can you tempt me Like you do? Cherished memory, Stained by hues upon canvas mild... Blotted By this illusive paintbrush I hold... Spreading A multitude of faded lies; They last no more than a century, Reciting my verses As I experience emotion. Betrayal, Defeat; Embittered in the wake of eventide, Breaking with the strains. Moonlit corridors that lead to my soul: Pathway, Forsaken through the midst of strangers As they walk. Steps taken, bleeding footprints into the soil, Weeping aloud in agony; Too many years have they beheld. Smoothed as daybreak sounds, Alive with colors that the sun yields; A kiss of morning, A song of joy... Shattered. But oh! To reach and attain the precious tears of my day, Letting them mingle in this downfall Of the weak; Blues upon crimson, All lambent in the midday light, Striking rays of fire through my heart. And I stare; Seeing myself, all lucid and fine Upon this mirror, Placed within the ocean's keeping, Tasting brine, As waves lick mahogany foundation. It is not I that is perceived, Looking past a façade of loneliness... There she is, Little one; Fair child of milky skin, Eyes so blue... Caught amid the changing times.
