I understand you sometimes You say so much Sometimes I just close my eyes And try to listen to the whisper Of your heart straining Toward me trying to make me listen To the words hidden in the words Sweet lilting melodies in your voice And grating irony in your heart Hide all that you mean from me I know not what you say I feel the aching pain in my chest Longing for your giving touch But you hide behind your words Even though your heart fights To tell me the truth that lies somewhere In our subconsciouses But I am too blind to see And am deaf so I hear you not And we are both alone and wanting Because neither of us can understand the truth |

I love the irony in it. Too often our feelings blind us from what is right there in front of us. Good write. Jen To hate you must first have loved. |

there are times in are lives, when we feel the most blind...that's when we look with our hearts and often see more clearly...listening works the same way....I loved this poem, everthing about it worked...good stuff...I really like your work. Jeremy Be it in the truest form, or a desperate lack thereof, fail not to understand that the inspiration is love. |
