This takes place at a basketball championship game. I just wrote this about 5 minutes ago. hope you enjoy. He walks up to the line And takes a breath He doesn't think he can make it He is just not refreshed He dribbles the ball one time too many times He takes the shot and then he lets out a sigh His sweat drips down His worn out face He knows if he makes this He will win the long hard race He throws up the ball And he hopes and he hopes That down the hoop it will fall The crowd roars a second later Except that crowd is for the other team His coach looks at him in disgust Then tells him wash up and get clean Later that night crying in his bed He sees his coach come inside "It's ok son, just lie down your head." |

This is a really good poem. I don't normally read poems about sports, nor do I relate to them...but this is very good. Nice job! Keep postin'! As I smile at everyone else, I'm dying inside... ~Me |

Sweet poem. I really like sports poems. You did a good job on this one. " I think I got a tan from the light in which i was basking." |
